A piece of my heart lies in Africa. The indigenous tribes with their warmth, beauty, materials and fabrics have truly captivated me. My work draws inspiration from the *Africa Supernova* exhibition at the Netherlands. I have combined this inspiration with traditional patterns from the Kuba people of Congo and the Bamileke people of Cameroon. The title *African Faces* captures the continent's immense diversity. Africa is a patchwork of cultures with many faces, where resilience and hope go hand in hand with serious challenges such as inequality. They demonstrate remarkable resilience, a sense of togetherness. This is my tribute to them.

De filosofie van Wabi Sabi
De Japanse filosofie Wabi Sabi leert ons de schoonheid en rust te waarderen die voortkomen uit imperfectie, vergankelijkheid en eenvoud. Niets in het leven is volmaakt, permanent of ooit volledig afgerond.
Deze filosofie vormt de basis van al mijn mixed media en Art-Prints.

The Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi teaches us to appreciate the beauty and tranquility that come from imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity. Nothing in life is perfect, permanent, or ever completely finished. This philosophy forms the foundation of all my mixed media and Art-Prints.

De synergie van fotografie en handbedrukte vormen op Japans en andere ambachtelijke papiersoorten. Mijn kunst is een mix van fotografie, digitale bewerking print-technologie en ambachtelijk handwerk. Elk stuk is uniek. Ik experimenteer met gelliplates, ontwerp eigen vormen en patronen en bouw zo een uniek kunstwerk op. Door materialen duurzaam te hergebruiken, omarm ik de essentie van Wabi Sabi: de pure schoonheid van imperfectie.
